Aligarh Muslim University to begin the admission process from October 23 for the academic year 2020-21

The Aligarh Muslim University has decided to conduct entrance examinations in phases, according to the official notification issued on Friday The first phase will start from October 23 to November 10, it will conduct the exam for several undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

The university has already postponed the entrance exam due to the coronavirus pandemic. AMU has 12 faculties that comprise  15 centres, 98 departments, and three academies with about 1,342 teachers, 28,000 students,  and nearly 5,610 non-teaching staff members. Besides, it has three centres at Malappuram (Kerala) Kishanganj (Bihar), and Murshidabad (West Bengal).

The AMU offers admission for BA, BSc, BCom, BEd, and MBA, etc. any interested students who want to take admission in Aligarh Muslim University, can visit the official website of the university to enrol themselves.

AMU also awards University Merit Scholarships to applicants based on diploma, 10+2, and under graduation marks. Merit-cum-means, Pre Matric Scholarships and Post Matric Scholarships are granted by the state governments and central governments to worthy candidates.

Controller of Examinations Mujibullah Zubair addressed, wearing masks is mandatory and maintaining social distancing norms will be observed by increasing the number of test centres. The candidate found any symptoms like fever and cold etc. will be allocated a special isolation room for the safety of students at the examination centres, he added.

The university will conduct tests in phases. In the first phase starting from October 23 to November 10, it will hold an examination for several courses including BA, BSc, BCom, and MBA, etc. As per the revised schedule, the entrance for admission to Class 6 at school affiliated to the university will be held on October 23.

This will be followed by an examination for admission to class 9 on October 27, a spokesperson of the university said. Admission for the senior secondary school has been scheduled on November 1.

According to Shafay Kidwai, the spokesperson of the AMU, the schedule for the remaining courses will be announced later. He also added that no date has been finalized for the completion of the examination process as of now.
